Hi thanks for the advice, that's kinda what I'm doing now. Since I most comfortable using FB, so most of my followers are on there. And now I have gotten comfortable using wordpress and using that too! So together, it has been growing! Maybe next week I'll take the time to learn twitter and see how I can gain followers, since I'm not use to tweeting....and such

Hey there, thanks for dropping by :) Social media is a fantastic tool for growing your blog and building your brand. I have built my blog traffic and readership mainly by promoting my posts on my Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/summergoodwinauthor and via twitter @summer_goodwin. Many people also now follow this WordPress blog.

Facebook and twitter are the largest two platforms, but think about who you want to reach and choose your platforms strategically. My advice would be to start with a couple of selected platforms and dedicate some thought, time and resources to them. If you are on every platform, you run the risk of spreading yourself too thin and not having time to manage any of them well. That said, it is good to reserve your name on any new platform, just in case you want to start using it later.

My blog is aimed at writers and professional communicators, so twitter works very well for me - there are loads of writers, PR pros and marketing peeps on twitter. Facebook is great because my friends are there and many of them are also writers :) They are the two platforms I focus on and use regularly - the others are more sporadic.

I hope this helps and best of luck with your blogging! :)
